Russian tennis star Andrey Rublev advanced to the third round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome, defeating Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic in straight sets.

The 28-year-old Rublev, seeded 12th, secured a 6:4, 6:4 win over world No. 70 Kecmanovic in the second round. As a seeded player, Rublev received a bye in the first round, starting his campaign directly from the second round.
His next opponent will be either Chile’s Cristian Garin or Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
Rublev currently holds the 14th spot in the ATP rankings, making him the second-highest-ranked Russian player, and has 17 ATP titles to his name.
The Rome Masters, featuring a prize pool of €8.235 million, is scheduled to conclude on May 17.
